At the age of 5, I was diagnosed with polio which took my ability to walk. At the time I was living in Somalia and there was not much accessibility for a wheelchair. Crawling became my main form of mobility. Once I came to the United States, I was given my first wheelchair. The freedom I felt was unparalleled. This was my true American dream. I no longer depended on someone carrying me around or tirelessly crawling around the house. As the years have gone by, I realized I needed more. I needed a wheelchair that would give me the ability to drive and not need someone to push me when I’m going up a hill. I purchased my first ever power wheelchair once I got my big girl job. That’s when the game really changed. I was able to drive and become fully independent. As we grow, we want more. The latest and the greatest. In 2020, I began my search for the best power wheelchair I could find.
That’s when I found WHILL - Next-Gen Power Wheelchair & Personal Mobility Devices. Finally, a chair that embodies our day and age. We live in an society that’s increasing in technology and aesthetics. WHILL made sure accessibility is apart of the discussion. I decided to partner with WHILL to sell a product that I believe in and meets all my needs. I want to make sure my community of wheelchair users have access to a quality wheelchair that makes our everyday lives better. I want my community to come and try out the product to make sure it fits their needs and gives them the extra push to freedom. My hopes with Mobility Powered Services (MPS) is to put our community at the forefront and offer a product that could ultimately increase your standard of life, like it did to mine
